POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is located at our Yonge Eglinton office and reports to the Director, Construction. This position is responsible for the oversight and supervision of Construction projects for RioCan’s Tenant Construction group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders; Asset Management, Property Management, Leasing, Procurement, Contractors, Consultants, Designers, Architects, Municipalities and Tenants on various projects;
- Prepare accurate and timely reports, including but not limited to; quarterly accruals, monthly / quarterly reforecasts, PSR (Project Status Report) Updates;
- Be active and up to date on new construction practices, research innovative ways to build efficiently and expeditiously;
- Prepare budgets and scheduling for internal approvals;
- Monitor and oversee tendering process, ensure that corporate policies are being adhered to, and provide tender analysis with recommendation for approvals;
- Management of multiple projects, including but not limited to; visiting sites to ensure disruption to operations is limited and projects stay on time & on budget, contract administration, issuance of any necessary change orders/budget revisions, and review approval of invoices;
- Work closely with and provide support when needed to the Property Management group during projects;
- Review/Analyze leases to ensure projects are supporting RioCan’s obligations;
- Ensure that all Landlord and municipal requirements are met prior to providing Tenant approval to begin construction;
- Participate in when called upon, specific Tenant Experience led internal / external initiatives supporting RioCan’s corporate goals;
- Other duties / projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:- University Degree / College Diploma in relevant field of study;
- 5 years of experience in Construction Management;
- Experience in blueprint reading, building codes, municipal requirements, and fire code regulations;
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and technology methods, industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling and general safety requirements;
- Excellent time management and organization skills and ability to communicate and report accurately and on time;
- Proven negotiation skills;
- Effective critical thinking;
- Experience with budget forecasting, creating spreadsheets, troubleshooting, project planning, interpreting legal documents, accounting, interpreting specs and standards, and AutoCad, Blubeam, PowerBI, PowerApps;
- Proven understanding of Lease Agreements;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, Acrobat Professional and Outlook;
- Experience with “Yardi” ERP system an asset.
