We’re on the hunt for a Junior Designer who can blend creativity with production expertise to craft stunning designs across multiple platforms. Whether it’s designing layouts for emails, digital billboards, or out-of-home print ads, you’ll work on projects that make a difference. Bonus points if you’re passionate about the automotive industry (but not mandatory)!
The Role:
This opportunity is ideal for a junior to intermediate designer eager to contribute in a fast-paced environment, combining production expertise with creative flair. As part of our studio team, you’ll work on projects spanning both digital and print mediums, demonstrating flexibility and proficiency across various channels.
You will report directly to the Studio Design Team Manager and collaborate closely with Studio Project Managers within the team, as well as Account Managers from other departments.
What your typical day will look like:
- Leverage strong design and typography skills to deliver high-quality print, digital, and motion projects.
- Create storyboards for online banner ads.
- Design layouts for email campaigns.
- Develop creative assets for out-of-home digital billboards.
The Knowledge and Experience you bring:
You will bring a diverse skill set and experience across digital and print channels, including:
Digital:
- Digital banner ads
- Digital billboards
- CRM (email campaigns)
- UX/website design
Print:
- Newspaper
- Magazine
- Out-of-home advertising
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud with strong experience in the following tools:
- Adobe Photoshop: Image manipulation and storyboarding for digital layouts.
- Adobe InDesign: Page layout design.
- Adobe Illustrator: General illustration tasks.
- Typography: Solid understanding and application of typography.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Experience using Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to interpret and apply various brand guidelines to ensure projects align with brand standards.
- 4+ years’ experience in a related studio and/or ad agency environment.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
- Expertise in typography and an eye for detail.
- Familiarity with AODA and WCAG standards is a plus.
- Bonus: Working knowledge of Adobe XD, After Effects, or Google Studio.
The Skills and Qualities that make you stand out:
- Adobe XD/Figma: Working knowledge for UX/UI wireframing.
- Adobe After Effects: Experience with motion graphics for online digital media.
- Familiarity with Google DoubleClick Digital Marketing workflows (Google Studio).
- Knowledge of Canada’s AODA and WCAG standards.
- Interest in the automotive industry and understanding of the automotive retail chain (an asset).
