Area Of Responsibility
Reporting to the Senior Manager/Manager/Coordinator, the Program Assistant, HR provides program and administrative support to the various functional teams in Human Resources such as Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Labour Relations, Compensation & Benefits, Organizational Development, HR Administration and Health, Safety & Wellness, by assisting in day-to-day duties, ensuring effective delivery of services and responses to general inquiries received by the section.
- Respond to employee and external client inquiries/concerns and provide information regarding programs and services, and escalates to appropriate City staff as required
- Assist and collaborate on the sectional programs and special projects
- Provide administrative support including physical and electronic filing, preparing memos and formatting reports
- Maintain records, documentation, and prepare reports as required
- Process online forms and provide support on sectional workflow procedures
- Assist with data entry and tracking, and maintain data integrity
- Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
- Understand and adhere to Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards
- Attend meetings/training as required
Education
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Working towards a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Industrial or Labour Relations, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a similar discipline
Required Experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Human Resources specific principles
Other Skills And Assets
- Effective customer service skills and communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
