As a recognized leader in Canada’s tourism industry, the Capilano Group is in the business of creating experiences people are amazed by. As a member of the Sales & Marketing team, the Sales & Marketing Coordinator reports to and assists the Marketing Manager and assists the Director of Sales and the Director of Communications & Events. This multi-faceted role calls for an outgoing, energetic and organized individual to execute marketing strategies, coordinate public, press, industry and influencer engagement and conduct direct sales efforts for Vancouver's most iconic outdoor attraction and other Capilano Group properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing:
- Coordinates with Marketing Manager to aid in the success of marketing campaigns for all Capilano Group properties
- Creates compelling content for social media accounts to drive engagement, followership, and brand advocacy
- Coordinates and gathers visual content at in-house events for promotional purposes
- Monitors social media activities and trends and suggests topics.
- Assist with Capilano Group business listings and websites, using WordPress, to keep each season current and promote events, announcements, promotions and online sales
- Assists with proofing final marketing and advertisement materials
- Acts as the first point of contact for advertising cold calls and emails; brings mediums of interest to the attention of the Marketing Manager
- Collaborates with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement SEO strategies for website optimization and increased organic traffic
- Attends Marketing Update Meetings; prepares notes and distributes
- Assists with and conducts market research surveys and reports.
Communications & Events:
- Assists Director of Communications & Events with seasonal events including Love Lights, Canyon Frights and Canyon Lights as required
- Assists Director of Communications & Events with internal/external events when required
- Manages community outreach and communications to improve/promote positive relationships with our neighbours
- Ensures media releases are up to date on various Capilano Group websites
- Assists with media and influencer visits and handles daily media relations requests. Works with the Marketing Manager and Director of Communications with selecting bloggers and social media influencers for property visits
- Coordinates film production & parking requests at the Park
- Escorts media and influencer visits; acts as the spokesperson for familiarization tours
- Receives media training and then acts as point of contact as part of our crisis communications team for critical incidents
Sales:
- Assists the Director of Sales to develop and maintain relationships with hotel front desk staff, bell staff and concierges through regular sales visits in the metro Vancouver area.
- Prepares and distributes “Hot Sheets” with informative information on seasonal events, shuttle schedules, commissions, and seasonal prize programs
- Distributes coupons, seasonal shuttle schedules and brochures as needed. Tracks, prepares and distributes commissions to relevant hotel staff
- Regularly updates and manages the contact list in the CRM to ensure accuracy of hotel and other industry contacts
- Attends trade shows to promote Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and other Capilano Group properties on an as-needed basis
- Assist with and leads promotional familiarization visits by our travel trade partners
- Consults with the shuttle team at Canada Place or in downtown Vancouver to boost ridership.
- Networks with the ticket sellers at Canada Place and in other key tourism areas to ensure Capilano is top of mind and first promoted
- Arranges, attends, and delivers with local training via site visits or in-office presentations on the Capilano Group
- Represents the Capilano Group at industry functions
- Participate as a member of the VanPass (Vancouver Attraction Group) in their regular meetings and marketing activities

An outgoing, energetic, highly organized, and detail-oriented sales and marketing professional. You thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have a natural ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, including media, influencers, travel trade partners, and guests. You’re a strong communicator who can craft compelling content for digital marketing and PR initiatives while seamlessly coordinating multiple projects.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or degree in marketing, communications, sales, hospitality, or a related field
- 1+ years of experience in marketing coordination, PR, CRM, SEO, and social media management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A keen eye for detail
- Proficiency in creating and sharing compelling content on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn)
- Experience with WordPress, MS Office; Adobe platforms an asset
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptable, proactive, and passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for work use
Considerations:
- Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business in a variety of weather conditions
- This is a full-time in-office position.
- While performing the duties of this position, Team Members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs
- Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool
