Head of Engineering at Glowtify
As our Head of Engineering, you'll collaborate with the CTO to set the technical vision and lead the development of our platform across both backend and frontend services. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the Node.js architecture, integrating with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP), and driving best practices for scalability and performance. You'll also oversee frontend development, ensuring we deliver intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces. From server-side development and data modeling to API performance and polished UI experiences, you'll be instrumental in creating a seamless, end-to-end user journey.

Daily responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, implementation, and maintenance of features for our SaaS platform, with a strong emphasis on frontend excellence
- Collaborate closely with our CTO and a tight-knit team to drive the product's roadmap
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables within an agile startup environment
- Participate actively in coding, troubleshooting, and code review sessions
- Mentor and guide junior developers as the team grows
You will thrive in this role if you have
- Proven experience with JavaScript Frameworks, particularly React
- Demonstrable experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Familiarity with building and integrating APIs for platforms like Shopify, Google Analytics, and Stripe
- A strong background in handling large datasets and complex data processing tasks in a cloud environment
- Autonomy in daily tasks and the ability to take on broader team leadership
- A strong dedication to projects and the ability to sustain efforts over long hours
- The flexibility and willingness to be present in the office at least 2 days a week
- English fluency (conversational French or a willingness to learn is a plus)
Candidates with an edge will have
- 5+ years as a developer
- Generative AI background
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities
- Familiarity with modern development and deployment tools like TypeScript, Firebase, Sentry, ESLint, Prettier, and Yarn
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) in a cloud environment
