Senior Director of Finance, North America - 12 to 14 Month Contract
Reports to: President
Location: Vancouver, BC
Annual Salary: $170,000.00 - $200,000.00 depending on experience
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative Senior Director of Finance to join COBS Bread on an 12 to 14 month contract. This role involves developing and implementing financial strategies to drive organizational growth in North America by establishing robust financial performance measurements, metrics, and analytics. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Director of Finance will be a strategic business partner to the President and management team where they will be providing financial leadership and insights to achieve organizational, profitability and balance sheet objectives. The Senior Director of Finance will lead and develop the Finance Team by setting a clear vision, articulating expectations and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning and Growth
- Identify, drive and deliver strategies for COBS Bread long-term growth in North America
- Working with the Senior Leadership Team and partnering with the VP of USA to develop, implement and measure the expansion of the USA business
- Ensure strategic plan improves the long-term health of the corporate and franchise balance sheet
Financial Management and Policy
- Recognize, communicate and consult with senior managers to make recommendations and devise financial policy and strategies to resolve challenges facing the organization
- Establish and direct COBS Bread's financial administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure honest, accurate reporting and consistent alignment with all entities/markets
- Direct the collection of financial and accounting information, oversee the preparation of financial statements and preparation of management and board reporting
- Overseeing audit, tax and banking relationships
- Give assessments of proposals involving financial expenditure and the status of operational projects
Data and Reporting
- Collaborate with the Data and Business Intelligence Team to utilize information systems, create and execute reporting strategies, and generate data insights for the North American markets.
- Co-ordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of financial accounting and related systems, working closely with the Group's global director of IT
Leadership and Representation
- Represent COBS Bread in dealings with our bankers, suppliers, legal advisers, major clients and others as required
- Be a trusted leader to Finance Leadership Team by means of communicating the vision, expectations and ensuring established deadlines are met

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in senior-level finance position
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- CPA or CA designation required
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, contract management, and execution
- Experience in consumer retail/goods and/or food and beverage sector is preferred
- Experience in franchise-based or distributed network business models is preferred
- Experience with multinational and cross-border operations is preferred
- Proven ability to engage with, influence, and gain consensus among a wide variety of stakeholders
- Understanding of US and Canadian accounting and taxation principles is preferred
- Skilled in analyzing financial data and preparing reports, statements, and projections using IT and Business Intelligence tools
- Extensive knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and asset management
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills for various audiences
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
