Job Summary:
Our architecture office is seeking a motivated and talented Junior Level Architectural Technologist specializing in Exterior Envelope Building Systems to support our team of architects and engineers in designing and constructing high-performance building envelopes.
The successful candidate will have experience in building envelope design and detailing, as well as knowledge of building codes and construction methods. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn and grow in their role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist architects and engineers in developing exterior envelope building systems for new construction and renovation projects
- Produce architectural drawings and details for exterior envelope building systems using AutoCAD or Revit software
- Conduct research on building envelope materials and systems to identify best practices and ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that exterior envelope building systems are integrated with other building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
- Perform field inspections to verify compliance with design and construction documents
- Assist in developing project specifications and reviewing contractor submittals
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on exterior envelope building system design and progress
- Other duties as assigned by senior management
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in building envelope design and detailing
- Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit software
- Knowledge of building codes and construction methods
- Familiarity with energy-efficient building practices and materials
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
