Starting Salary - $49,000 per year
This is a professional position reporting directly to the CEO with the responsibility of building and maintaining business and community partnerships and includes developing and implementing organizational events to support business engagement. This position coordinates coalition-wide activities and represents the organization with current and prospective business partners.
Work is performed under limited supervision with latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgment. Position seeks technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
Coalition staff may be one on one with children in the Coalition office reception area while parents are obtaining services. Additionally, staff are expected to participate in Coalition sponsored events and may be one on one with children at activity booths.

- Maintains regular communication with the CEO to provide timely and accurate information while continuously consulting to align initiatives and priorities
- Provides immediate notification to the CEO in the event of any anomalies, issues or concerns.
- Provides creative and imaginative ways to develop local partnerships within the business community
- Facilitates and leads initiatives leading to resource and fundraising development
- Raises awareness about the Early Learning Coalition of Polk County's services, including childcare assistance, Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Program, and Childcare Resource & Referral Services to community members and partnering agencies/local businesses
- Advocates for the Coalition creatively throughout the business community and develops relationships to garner community support
- Provides project oversight to current and new organizational events such as the annual gala, annual parades, Family Fun Day, United Way Fundraising efforts, etc...
- Works closely with marketing staff to assure coalition initiatives are marketed and publicized appropriately and effectively
Additional Responsibilities:
This position must be available to work flexible schedules, including attendance at frequent community events during nights, weekends, and holidays as required. This position does not require set office hours due to the scheduling requirements often outside of traditional work hours. A home/office work hybrid model may be considered appropriate at various times of the year. Specific initiatives/projects may determine the extent of office or remote work. A valid Florida driver's license, availability of an automobile during work hours, and the ability to travel locally, regionally, or statewide for site visits, training and other job-related activities and functions are required.
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Marketing, Public Relations or related area.

- Knowledge and awareness of the programs offered by the Coalition and other community early learning programs
- The ability to self-start approved projects and work with little oversight
- The ability to comfortably meet with new or prospective partners and maintain lucrative relationships
- The ability to professionally and positively represent the coalition in community events
- The ability to comfortably speak before large crowds in public settings
- The ability to manage and organize projects
- The ability to set deadlines and monitor progress to assure completion

- The ability to consistently seek continuous improvement while accepting constructive criticism
Physical, Environmental, and Sensory Requirements
Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (up to 20 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation and periods of time standing and/or walking.
Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, cold, rain, fumes).
Some tasks require the ability to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, detect, and/or position objects. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate between cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate effectively.
