Capital Projects Planning and Delivery (CPPD) is a division within the Public Service Delivery and is responsible for the planning and delivery of capital projects on behalf of varied provincial government client group divisions and branches. The Technical Services Branch of CPPD offers multi-disciplinary architectural, engineering and technical support services for portfolio capital planning, project design and project construction.

- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver's Licence.
- Must be able to travel to various locations around the Province via air or ground transportation with overnight stays.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or diploma in specific technical discipline from a recognized technical institution, Engineer, Architect, PMP Designation, or combined relevant industry experience.
- Extensive experience in developing architectural designs, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD or other related design software for new construction and renovation projects.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, building codes, and building science.
- Experience in contract administration processes, including tendering, contract change management, contract payments, and contract closeout.
- Field experience in facility assessments, scope development, and construction quality reviews.
- Effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and in an organized manner for presentation to a variety of audiences.
- Effective written communication skills, with the ability to produce materials such as reports, letters, submissions, manuals, procedures, etc.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and produce work to meet competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and other office or design software tools.
Desired:
- Experience with structural drafting and drawing development to support internal structural engineering design and drawing production.
Duties:
This position, reporting to the Senior Architect, is responsible for providing architectural technologist services for the Branch, the Division, and in support of other departments and agencies of the government. This is technical work in support of the Capital Planning and Project Delivery branch across all phases of project planning and delivery. The Architectural Technologist role will be responsible for drawing and specifications production, technical standards development, contract administration, field assessments of existing facilities as well as new construction, and technical reviews of design work by others. The position requires both independent and collaborative work for the Architectural and Structural Engineering group.
